I am an independent luxury goods and retail consultant, who spent over twenty years as an equity analyst, and subsequently founded my consulting business in 2008.  I was ranked the top European luxury equity analyst for nine consecutive years by Institutional Investor.  I was also cited as among the top 100 most influential people in fashion by Time Magazine.

Today I specialise in luxury/retail strategy, analysis, valuation and expert witness work.  I am available for bespoke luxury and retail research, due diligence and board seats, but I get involved only if I feel I can make a real difference.

I help luxury and retail companies tell their story best in order to maximise their valuation. This involves crafting the investor presentation to maximum effect, as well as coaching management on how to present most effectively to investors.

On the flip side I also help investors understand luxury and consumer companies in order to understand their long-term prospects and value them correctly.

I am a Senior Advisor for Smith Square Partners. I have previously held board seats at Prada SA, French Connection, Georg Jensen and Fairfax & Favor.

The highlights of my career have been leading the research for the IPOs of Bulgari, Gucci and Burberry; as well as advising on the IPOs of Prada and Pandora.  Another recent highlight was acting as an expert witness in the Estée Lauder litigation case.

I’ve been described as being prepared to ask the difficult questions, with a gritty determination.

The thrill of researching consumer companies is that there is so much additional field research you can do in order to truly understand and explain the story.

When I’m not researching luxury companies, I love running because so often it forces you to dig deep and tests your character in the same way you have to in life.
